Washington Fishing Guides
Favorite Rivers
Just a few hours drive
South of Seattle - is the very popular Cowlitz River. The Cowlitz
routinely ranks as one of the top fishing rivers in Washington for Winter
Steelhead, Spring Chinook, Summer Steelhead and Fall Silvers and Kings...
Most action for Steelhead is based around the Blue Creek area
just below the Steelhead Hatchery - Steelhead fishing is found throughout the
river.
Salmon Fishing is also found throughout the river, but can also concentrate
in numbers near the Salmon Hatchery higher up in the river
About and hour Northeast of Seattle - is the Skykomish River.
The "Sky" is a popular local fishing river - producing Winter Steelhead normally just
after Thanksgiving and Trophy wild Steelhead up to 30 pounds in late winter.
A spring Chinook run is now available in June. Summer Steelhead is very
popular as are the fall runs of Silvers, Kings and Chum Salmon.
For most of it's length the Columbia serves as the border
between Oregon and Washington. Nearly year round fishing
opportunities are found on the Columbia.
The Spring Chinook
Salmon fishing run is looked upon with much anticipation by
Washington anglers! The " Springers" arrive in April or May and don't lay
their eggs until fall. They are comparable to the Copper River Salmon in the
high concentration of body fat to sustain them throughout the Spring and Summer
Months! Sturgeon are found throughout the river as they follow their food
sources from the mouth at Astoria to the Bonneville Dam. Steelhead and
Salmon runs follow the Spring Chinook Salmon fishing through late December!
The most beautiful portion of the state offering some of the
hottest Steelhead Fishing, Trout fishing and Salmon
fishing.. Remote and unspoiled.
The Olympic Peninsula is a diverse blend of climates and natural wonders.
Jutting out of the northwest corner the state, it comprises some of the richest
and most undeveloped forestland in Washington.

"I
have fished with many guides and charters from Florida to Alaska over the years,
and now fish exclusively with Eli Rico - owner of Hotshot Guide Services.
When fishing with some guides, you feel you are just a number and their only duty is
to get you on and off the water and sometimes get fish - with Eli, you feel that
he really enjoys seeing his customers catch fish and that at the end of the day
- you are a friend, not just a listing in a database.
Eli is
extremely knowledgeable of local fishing waters and very innovative in developing new
methods to increase customer catch rates.
Eli is
also a great fishing teacher and is not afraid to share his fishing techniques and fishing knowledge
with you, I have learned a great deal fishing with him and learn something new on each
fishing trip!"
